Periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms continue to impact Cape Breton and eastern Nova Scotia Wednesday afternoon.
Victoria County was hit by heavy rain earlier in the day with 50-70 millimetres recorded in just a few hours in the Ingonish and Aspy Bay areas.
The community of Wreck Cove picked up 81 millimetres in just 90 minutes.
The main line of heavy rain is now moving toward the Cape Breton Regional Municipality, and eastern Cape Breton.
Environment Canada said some pockets of heavy showers may continue in Victoria County.

There are a couple other lines of slow-moving storms dropping heavy rain on the province’s southern and eastern shores.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for several regions along the Atlantic Coast.
Residents in these areas should prepare for heavy amounts of rain this afternoon and those travelling should prepare for the potential of pooling water and dangerous travel conditions on the roads.
