Police have closed portions of Bayers Road and Oxford Street
Emergency crews responded to a natural gas leak in west-end Halifax on Wednesday morning that forced the closure of sections of Bayers Road and Oxford Street.
Heritage Gas is in the process of capping the leak.
Police issued an alert at about 11:30 a.m. AT warning motorists to stay away from the area and residents to close their windows.
According to the traffic advisory, Bayers Road from Windsor Street to Connolly Street is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Oxford Street from Liverpool Street to Edgewood Avenue is also closed.
