RCMP say they are searching for a man who went missing Thursday at a lake northeast of Halifax.
Two men were riding in a four-metre boat at Cousins Lake. The boat struck something in the water and capsized.
A 58-year-old man from Truro is missing. A 50-year-old man managed to swim to shore and call for help. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
RCMP, along with ground search and rescue crews, are combing the area. RCMP Cpl. Guy Tremblay said conditions have been difficult.
“We’re talking about frigid water temperatures at this time of year and last night the temperatures were also below zero, so certainly challenging weather for anyone that would have been outdoors,” Tremblay said.
Tremblay said searchers have been using a drone. A helicopter has been requested, he said.
