Nova Scotia Mounties have a new commanding officer.
Assistant Commissioner Dan Morrow is now leading the province’s RCMP, the force announced Thursday in a news release.
“I pride myself on learning from the people I work with and the communities I serve, and I’m approaching this role with the same commitment — to listen, learn, and contribute to the strength of our division and the safety of our province,” Morrow said in the release.
Originally from Manitoba, Morrow began his RCMP career in 1992, the release said. He has served since 2007 in various capacities and communities across Nova Scotia, most recently as criminal operations officer.
Morrow takes over from Assistant Commissioner Dennis Daley, who retired in March after serving as commanding officer of the Nova Scotia RCMP since October 2022.
