RCMP in southwest Nova Scotia have charged a 36-year-old man with first-degree murder in the death of Steven Boudreau, 61.
Travis Shaun Jennings of Kings County is the second person to be charged with first-degree murder in Boudreau’s death. Cody Reid Palmer, 29, of Torbrook, N.S., was also charged in May.
Police said in a news release on Wednesday that Jennings is also charged with kidnapping as part of the investigation. RCMP say the kidnapping charge involves a different victim.
Boudreau was reported missing on April 19 from Hopewell in Pictou County. His remains were recovered in May but police have not provided any further details about what happened to Boudreau.
Jennings was arrested on June 22. Police say he had his first court appearance on June 23 at Kentville Provincial Court. He remains in custody.
