Police looking to identify motorcycle driver who struck e-bike rider near Halifax bridge

Halifax police are asking the public for help identifying a motorcycle driver who rode onto a pedestrian path near the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge and ran into a man on an e-bike.

In a news release Wednesday, Halifax Regional Police said officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Nantucket Avenue and Wyse Road in Dartmouth last Thursday around 9:30 p.m.

A motorcyclist entering the bridge from Dartmouth reportedly pulled a U-turn onto a pedestrian path and “intentionally struck a man driving an e-bike,” the release said.

The motorcycle driver left the scene after the crash. He is described as a white man.

His vehicle is described as a black sport bike with a pale-coloured side panel.

Anyone with information about the driver’s identity is asked to contact Halifax police at 902-490-5020 or submit an web tip through the Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers website.
